Dr. Wong

So usually when I introduce myself to a patient, I greet them by saying “Good morning, my name is Benjamin Ho and I am a medical student working with Dr. —. How are you doing today?” Or some variation of this. One of my patients started calling me Mr. Ho, then later that day it became Mr Hong. The next day, he started calling me Dr. Hong, and later that day, I became Dr. Wong. He’s been calling me Dr Wong ever since, despite my ID badge saying otherwise. Every time he calls me “Dr. Wong,” it makes me smile and chuckle a bit inside, so I haven’t bothered to correct him. But I wonder what the right thing to do would be in this situation. What would you do?

What would you do?
