AUC Students Celebrate Holi 2011

Hello everyone! I’d like to share with you an event that took place this past weekend at AUC. I did not attend this event as I was in Miami that day, but looking at the pictures, the event looked really cool. All the different colors along with the blue sky and water are just amazing.

Holi, also called the Festival of Colors, is a festival originating from India that happens every year in March, after the full moon in the Hindu month of Phalguna. It is a very joyful festival where people throw colored powder and water on each other to commemorate various events in Hindu culture and to welcome the colors and liveliness of the new spring season.

This past Friday, March 18, AUC students celebrated Holi on Mullet Bay Beach, just right outside campus, uniting friends and colleagues together from all different diverse cultural backgrounds together to celebrate the joys of life and the coming of spring.

Many many thanks to Jerome Tonog for his wonderful pictures of the event!
