Look What I Got!
I matched!
I now have my first job as a family physician for the next three years! I want to thank my family, friends, and especially my dear wife Irene for all the endless support you all have given me these past few years. And to AUC, thank you for giving me this opportunity to pursue medicine, and for constantly challenging and pushing me to become a more skilled and knowledgeable doctor. To all my friends and colleagues from AUC (and all other schools) who have matched, congratulations! Nothing makes me happier than seeing that we all made it through together!
And last but not least, thank you to all of you who have been following me on my blog. Looking forward to Friday, when I find out where I match!

My experience here at AUC was definitely life changing and gave me the opportunity to learn the knowledge and skills to become a doctor. I’m just so happy that I made it through and Match Day has finally come. I’m not sure how I found the time to update my blog, but somehow I did find the time. I guess for whatever you are passionate in, you will find the time to do it. I’ll keep everyone posted. 🙂
Benji
Benji,
Your blog is so inspiring. Congrats on your match! I am also a non-traditional student. I am interviewing with AUC tomorrow and randomly stumbled across your post. So great to read. While there are other people who positively review Caribbean med schools, some of the posts out on the internet are very hateful towards them, so it was really nice to see such a great blog dedicated to it- makes me feel more confident in my decision to apply to Caribbean schools.
Best of luck!
Jennifer
Thanks for reading Jennifer. It’s good to get different perspectives from different people. I hope your interview went well!
Hey Benji,
Wanted to congratulate you on successfully matching, you deserve everything that you’ve accomplished. I also really wanted to thank you for the amount of work you have put into your blog. A few years ago when I was trying to decided if I would go the caribbean route your blog gave me the confidence that an offshore school was a viable option and for that I really thank you.
Dennis
Thanks for the message Dennis! Wishing you the best in your career!
