One Amazing Week

Along with the 93 first-semester students who are about to embark on the start of their medical careers, it has been one amazing first week for me since I came back to AUC to start on my second semester. First, it was wonderful meeting a lot of new faces and names, passionate, driven individuals who are about to embark on an amazing journey towards becoming doctors. Many are readers of Diary of a Caribbean Med Student who I’ve corresponded with the past six months since my first post, and I’m so happy to finally meet you all in person. Then, the AUC Alumni Association contacted me for an interview because they’re interested in writing a little story about my blog for the upcoming edition of AUC Connections magazine. I am looking forward to working together with you all for the new year. Finally, I found out that I was chosen to be a TA for Anatomy, and I accepted the position right away. This is a great opportunity on so many levels, and I am very excited. I’m not sure which of these three events I’m most happy about, but good news like this, especially three in a row, don’t come everyday.

So right now, I’m so grateful for everyone who made this first week as wonderful as it is, not only for me, but for every one of us who are eager to travel thousands of miles away to St. Maarten to begin or continue our journey. Welcome back everyone!
