Happy 3rd Birthday Lily!

So earlier this week, my little niece Lily turned a big 3 years old! She is the most beautiful child ever and so cute, and I’m amazed it’s already been three years! It didn’t seem that long ago when I visited my big brother Jimmy and my sister-in-law April when Lily entered the world and into our lives. Time sure does fly! Happy big 3rd birthday Lily!

Lately in Behavioral Science class, we’ve been learning about childhood developmental milestones. One assessment tool that is often used by primary care providers to evaluate the social, linguistic, and gross and fine motor development of children is the Denver II. According to the Denver, here are some things that Lily should and might be able to do now!

To read this chart, draw a line down the age of the child. See where the white/blue bars correspond. The left edge of the bar represents the age that 25% of children can do the action given. The border between white and blue represents the 75% mark and the right-most edge represent the 90% mark, in which most children should be able to do the action.
