Ten Things Zipping Through My Head on the Zip Line
Last weekend Kwasi, Vincenza, Claudia, Irene, and I headed over to Loterie Farm on the French side to attempt the FlyZone Xtreme, the longest and most challenging of the Zip Lining courses in St. Martin and the most breathtaking. It was the first time for most of us. I was quite nervous at first but at the end I had the fun of my life! Here were ten things that were running through my head on the zip line:
- Will this small strap support me, zipping across the valley, God knows how many feet above the trees?
- Will I run into the tree at the other side?
- Will I slow down and get stuck in the middle of the cable, a hundred feet above the ground?
- Will my leather glove burn through? My hand is getting kinda hot.
- Oh no! Can it rain at a worse time?
- Was that a rat that fell on Kwasi’s head?
- Don’t look down. Don’t look down. Don’t look down.
- I wonder how many people in the world have died from zip lining.
- At least it’s a rainforest below with a lot of cushion and not concrete!
- Wow, this is amazing.
